Explanations head
We start from the snout … The muzzle should be worked closing laps. To avoid confusing the beginning chain with the first sc of the round insert a paperclip into the last stitch worked, then slip stitch to the top of the first sc worked, make a chain and start working with a sc in the same stitch. Once you have worked back around to the paper clip, do the last sc, pull it out and hook it to the last sc just worked, and slip stitch again to the first sc in the this round. Correctly performing these rounds is essential to form the correct shape for the snout.
